Quick introduction/test!

Some of you have probably noticed me around the past few months on Oppo. If not previously on the FP in the past few years. A few of you, I’ve had the pleasure of actually meeting! I tend to ramble on but I’ll try to keep it short.

Career: Marine Engineer. Internationally Certified. Advanced Certifications in regards to Passenger Vessels, Oil Tankers, and Low Flash Point Fuels (LNG, CNG LPG: gas fuels). Goal is to get the senior watchkeeping cert within 2 years.

Vehicles: 2005 Toyota Corolla XRS (weather/grocery beater). The low production 4-door Celica GT-S! Has the old Camry dent and needs a freshen up (eventually). Intake, shifter and brake upgrades. 144k km (I drive it maybe 4000km/y if it’s lucky).

2018 Honda CB650F. Primary at 27k km (roughly 10k km/y). Akra full, BMC race filter, Yoshimura tidy and sequential signals, Michelin Power RS. Current form:

Gear is ‘Deadnese’. HJC RPHA Deadpool, Custom Works Dainese suit. In an activity where you want to be noticed, it doesn’t get much better than a beefed up mix up the Red Power Ranger and Deadpool with some of the best street riding protection available.

I have a Nikon D3500 and some stuff that I play around with...

After the debacle that was the 737 Max I firmly believe that they will both make this an utmost priority. I know people were calling to defund the FAA after such an incident but think realistically they should work with the funds given and appropriated them correctly . :)

I actually really like the Ed Bolian method of daily driving super-cars and selling them for equal or greater. I know it’s not the fast capital and requires being a shrewd negotiator but what’s life without a little fun? :)

I’d go more along the lines Pagani Hua y ra, K oenigsegg J esko myself. I see some potential gains.

I’ve had only one really major cut off with a cab (of course it was a cab) that required real intervention on my part in the past 3 years.

Since the suit last year, incidents have basically stopped. It’s down to increasing my visibility and vision , predicting idiots, using the bubble , and the suit helps with shepherding the space cadets.

Correct, unfortunately another West Coast ‘look no snow’ peeps that are prevalent here though .

Pros: One year only sold for Canada, easy to ride, built like a tank (reliable, solid) .

Cons: Not super fast, pegs too low, built like a tank (heavy ), low on tech

The cops do take a good look but I behave in places they’re prevalent. The positives outweigh it though. Most people get a kick out of it. Waves from young to old, rich to poor.

Yes, it’s a full Akra system so the header, collector are stainless similar to the water fall that’s stock. The stock system is one piece from head to tailpipe so it’s either full system or chop off for a can. They like giving out noise VI here so I opted to keep the stock exhaust intact.

2ZZ-GE so the same as the Matrix XRS, Celica GT-S and of course the Lotus Elise/Exige when it came stateside. A wonderful 8200rpm redline and similar early VTEC ‘kicked in yo’ at 6700.

I emailed Toyota Canada years ago and they sold 1097 C-XRS between 2005 and 2006. If I had to guess I’d say total including US and PR is under 12, 000 units.

I think it’s definitely workable. I’d go with a second skull integrated into the car. I think a nice big one sort of like the truck from Maximum Overdrive.

Nothing wrong with the Corolla! Solid, dependable and I still posit that ANY car can be fun, no matter how mundane. It’s how it makes YOU feel and whether you enjoy it! I have an Accent, so I should know! :P

Nice bike! I’m not a bike guy at all (don’t have my bike license), but I do have a huge thing for scooters and Piaggio Apes because I’m weird...

The exhaust on that Honda looks epic!

Thank you and correct, west coast like a fair few members. So far as to have met a few! I actually haven’t sailed down that way but I’ve been out to Newfoundland.

The Corolla is actually fantastic, it’s quite a bit of fun with the Elise engine and the 6-speed. It puts up with a lot of crap much like a 15yo Civic Si can. Do recommend. Absolutely, it’s got WRC bones! ‘Run what you brung’

You know, I wasn’t either 4 years ago. However traffic keeps getting more ridiculous around Vancouver and after watching some MotoGP I had to at least try it. Got completely hooked with the performance and community.

Both are good little machines that will draw attention locally!

It’s a really nice styling element and uncorked it sounds more like a 1000cc but not quite as much volume. I t’s not as whiny in pitch as a 600RR.

Right on! Truth be told I had either before I had my bike put on haha.

It’s actually kind of cool because it’s more portable than the car dyno thus easier to set up at moto events. He had on a different bike every 8- 10min or with 2-3min for 3-4 pulls by himself. Charity event, $15 for a run, top whp got a new tire (it was a stock zx-14 somewhere around 189whp as rated).
